Xinxing Guo, MD, PhD, is a Senior Research Program Manager at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, specializing in clinical and public health ophthalmology research. Originally trained as an ophthalmologist in China, Dr. Guo earned her PhD in epidemiology before joining the Wilmer Eye Institute as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2016. She assumed her current role in 2023. 

 Dr. Guo’s research centers on pediatric eye health, with a focus on identifying risk factors for common vision disorders such as refractive error and amblyopia. She also investigates the impact of social determinants of health on vision outcomes and develops community-based interventions to improve access to eye care in underserved populations. She has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and is recognized for her significant contributions to the evaluation of school-based vision programs and their effects on children’s health and educational well-being.
