Ashley Zhou is a medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She served as the Medical Student Director of Hopkins Vision Screening in Our Neighborhoods, Co-President of the American Medical Women’s Association, one of the Health Fair Co-Chairs for the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association, and the Mentorship Chair for the Women in Surgery student organization. Ashley’s research covers a diverse range of topics including pathologic myopia, retinal detachments, health equity, surgical education, vision screening, and viral retinitis. She helped found the National Medical Student Vision Screening Consortium and volunteers for the COVIDUp2Date outreach page, the COVID Collaboration Platform, and the COVID-Related Elder Outreach program. She is part of the communications and social media team for both the DiagnosisGlaucoma podcast and Vision for Baltimore.
