As an undergraduate student, Natalie studied Biochemistry and Psychology. Outside of the classroom, she discovered her passion for working with sick children and their families as both a volunteer radio station DJ inside of a local hospital and a volunteer producer for the Austen Everett Foundation. Her interest in health education came from her role as a Mental Health Peer Educator for the University of Miami Counseling Center and as an Adolescent HIV/STI Counselor in Miami, Florida. When Natalie started at Johns Hopkins as a medical student in August 2019, she knew that she wanted to continue to explore her interests in pediatrics, health education, and community outreach with a focus on health equity amongst the Hispanic community. Thus, Natalie is currently involved with Vidas Saludables, a quarterly bilingual Adolescent Healthy Lifestyle Education Series, and COVID-19 School-Reopening Educational Programming. Additionally, Natalie work with the Interventional Cardiology Department at Johns Hopkins Hospital conducting clinical research focused on TAVR outcomes and disparities. Natalie aspires to become a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist in the future.
